SAP Integration Suite is the cloud integration platform that SAP operates and that is subscribed to on SAP BTP. It reaches on-premise systems through SAP Cloud Connector, and Edge Integration Cell covers scenarios where data must never leave the company network.
SAP PI/PO is the on-premise integration platform that manages message traffic between SAP and non-SAP systems from one hub. Mainstream maintenance ends at the end of 2027 and extended maintenance at the end of 2030.
Moving from SAP PO to SAP CPI (new name: SAP Integration Suite, Cloud Integration) means deciding, interface by interface, between tool-based migration and redesign. SAP's migration tool moves ICO and receiver determination objects, while adapter modules and JDBC and RFC lookups are rebuilt by hand.
