SAP Commerce Cloud (SAP Hybris) - Digital Commerce

SAP Commerce Cloud, formerly SAP Hybris, is SAP's platform for B2B, B2C and B2B2C commerce. Catalogs, carts, promotions and orders are managed here, while prices, stock and credit limits come from S/4HANA and the storefront runs decoupled from the back end.

From catalog to order in SAP Commerce Cloud

Product content is published, customers come from S/4HANA; orders are placed in the store, passed to the back end and read back.

Comparison

Asynchronous or synchronous orders?

In SAP's B2B integration an order is created either in Commerce first or straight in S/4HANA; payment and product types decide.

  • Asynchronous order

    Commerce first, then S/4HANA

    • Order is created in Commerce
    • Sent to S/4HANA via SAP CPI
    • Price, credit and stock checked live
    • Order is kept in both systems
  • Synchronous order

    Created directly in S/4HANA

    • OData V4 or V2 API call
    • Order simulation in the cart
    • No persistent record in Commerce
    • Account payment only
    • Service and subscription items skipped

Current state

SAP Commerce Cloud: release, maintenance, storefront

  • SAP calls Commerce Cloud the evolution of SAP Hybris. The last on-premise SAP Commerce release, 2205, left mainstream maintenance on 31 July 2026; innovation now ships only in the cloud.
  • Since 2211 there are no major versions, just monthly update releases, with new features at quarter end. Cloud Portal refuses builds on a release no longer on the current list.
  • The Java 21 and Spring 6 framework update is mandatory: new builds targeting Java 17 have been rejected since 31 August 2026. Updates of this kind come roughly every two years.
  • Accelerator storefronts have been deprecated since 2205. SAP has set no fixed removal date and still supports them, but no new features are delivered on Accelerator.

Localization

e-Arşiv and channel-specific prices

  • e-Arşiv for online sales

Taxpayers selling on their own site or a marketplace with gross sales of 500,000 TL or more must join e-Fatura and issue invoices as e-Fatura or e-Arşiv.

    E-Archive
  • Reference price in web sales

Since 1 August 2026 the pre-discount price in a sale ad is set only from the channel running the discount; a store price cannot justify a web discount.

FAQ

SAP Commerce Cloud and Hybris: questions

What is SAP Commerce Cloud? Is it still SAP Hybris?

SAP Commerce Cloud is SAP's solution for B2B, B2C and B2B2C commerce and part of the SAP Customer Experience portfolio. SAP describes it as the evolution of SAP Hybris; Hybris is the historic name. It is not a CRM: for sales teams and service there are SAP Sales Cloud and Service Cloud.

We run SAP Commerce (Hybris) on-premise. What now?

The last on-premise release is 2205, and its mainstream maintenance ended on 31 July 2026. It is now in customer-specific maintenance, with no legal changes and no third-party library updates. SAP delivers innovation only in Commerce Cloud and commits to 99.95 percent system availability there.

Is the composable storefront the same as Spartacus?

It is SAP's release of the same code. SAP publishes the official release of the open-source Spartacus libraries as SAP Commerce Cloud, composable storefront and includes it in the Commerce Cloud license at no extra cost. It is a decoupled JavaScript storefront built with Angular; Accelerator storefronts have been deprecated since 2205.

Which route connects Commerce Cloud to S/4HANA?

The integration extension pack brings ready-made solutions for S/4HANA, ERP, CRM and applications such as SAP Sales Cloud. SAP names the Commerce Integration API together with SAP CPI (Cloud Integration) as the strategic route. Customers and products come from S/4HANA; orders are passed on asynchronously or, in B2B, created directly in S/4HANA.

How does the quote flow with SAP CPQ work?

A B2B buyer starts a quote in Commerce and asks for a discount; it goes over SAP CPI (Cloud Integration) to the CPQ Request for Quotation SOAP API as XML. Once the sales rep edits and releases it, it returns to the store. If the buyer accepts, the order is placed in the ERP and its number is stored on the CPQ quote. For customer data, CPQ uses the ERP or Commerce as the master.

How often is SAP Commerce Cloud updated?

Since 2211 an update release comes out every month, new features arrive in the quarter-end releases, and each release stays current for at least six months. Cloud Portal will not build against a release that has dropped off the list. Java and Spring framework updates come roughly every two years; the move to Java 21 was the latest.
